Earlier, Mr Trong visited Angkor Wat and Bayon temple in the Cambodian province of Seam Reap.
During the visit from December 6-8, Mr Trong held talks with King Sihamoni, met with King - father Norodom Sihanouk and mother Queen Norodom Monique Sihanouk, President of the Senate Chea Sim, and Acting President of the National Assembly Nguon Nhel, and Prime Minister Hun Sen. He also received a delegation from the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association.
Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations said the visit once again affirms the Vietnamese Party and State’s consistent foreign policy of attaching special importance to deepening relations with neighbouring countries in a stable, sustainable and long-term manner, with priority given to preserving and developing the fine neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term cooperation with Cambodia.
The visit helped strengthen close and reliable relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People’s Party, said Quan.
